Charles S. Beard, II

Charles was born in York, Pennsylvania on September 12, 1945.  Upon graduating from high school, Charles enlisted in the U.S. Navy C.B.’s, where he served three years and was honorably discharged.  He and his wife Alice were married in Timonium, Maryland on April 25, 1970.  They have three children, Susan, Cynthia and Katherine.
In 1975, Charles and Alice started Charlie’s Repair Service, Inc.  Only their daughter Cynthia worked for the family business.  Alice is the office manager and the secretary/treasurer.  Charlie’s Repair Service, Inc. currently specializes in heavy duty towing and recovery.
Charles is TRAA Level 3 certified and WreckMaster 2.7A certified.  He currently holds membership in the following organizations:  the Pennsylvania Towing Association, of which he is the Regional Director, Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association (PMTA), American Automotive Service of Pennsylvania (AASP), York Country Garagemen Association, TRAA and the International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum and CNTA.
Charles has received recognition from various fire companies for his contributions to their Fire Safety Houses.
In the future, Charles would like to travel and spend more time with his family.  However, he will always remain active in the towing industry.
