James W. Payne

From a secure and comfortable location in historic Montgomery, Alabama, comes a former air force dynamo who used his background in-motor vehicle expertise-to-form a high quality towing-recovery firm. He and his wife Patsy soon became everyone’s friends. As organization in the industry became the norm, Jim was the obvious leader. He helped form the national association and his own state organization, and he has been an ever ready shoulder for all to use in the rocky roads of development as they presented themselves. Jim has continued to expand and extend his towing and recovery operation, moving to even larger quarters in 1987. In 1988 his associates again recruited him to serve as President of the Alabama Association. The road to his-present successful position was not a smooth one, but the character and devotion of Jim Payne has seen him through to the cherished designation as member of the Hall of Fame.
