Randall L. Schranz

Born Jan 24th 1948 in Red Wing, MN Randy founded “Randy’s High Country Towing” in Colorado Springs, CO in 1974. In addition Randy honed his skills by serving in the country’s military for 6 years. Randy was one of the founding members and Presidents for the “Pikes Peak Towing Assoc” which was later consolidated with the Towing and Professionals of Colorado for a unified voice. After the merger of the two associations Randy was elected and served as Chapter President of the TRPC. In addition to his service to the TRPC Randy has served as the State Director for TRAA, President of the Stocker Car Club and an avid participant and organizer of the world famous Pikes Peak Hill Climb which he has won 10 times!

Randy’s High Country Towing quickly established itself as a leader in service in the Colorado Springs market. While seeing and experiencing the industries challenges on a day to day basis Randy worked hard to secure changes to the States Tow Prices and the need to increase them in line with increased costs of doing business. In addition he worked to secure legislation to address price fixing for the industry in CO.

Randy’s dedication has not only been to his industry and business but to his community as well. He has been an active supporter and member of their local church and has dedicated time, property and assets to the local police and fire departments for use in training and extrication. Randy has been active in raising funds for Cancer research and in 2005 started a “Cruise Night” program of events to raise money for children with diabetes.

Randy has since retired and turned the business over to the next generation with his Son Lance and Daughter Lisa handling the reigns of the business now and continuing his desire for strong and ethical service to their clients while focusing on the betterment of the industry for all. In October of 2014 Randy’s High Country Towing will celebrate its 40th anniversary in the towing business!
