Richard A Stearns

Following military service in Korea, Dick returned to open a service station which quickly expanded into a three station operation. In 1970 he won the “Brand Name Retailer of the Year” award. Through ever expanding operations, his operation soon grew into the towing and recovery business with a fleet of six rigs. Each of Dick’s sons worked with him in the family business at one time or another. Dick Stearns became very active in the Statewide _Towing Association of Massachusetts where he serves on the Board of Directors and numerous committees, including Bylaws, Budget, Office, Membership and Trade Show.

Dick has also been an active member in TRAA, serving as Vice President, COSTA Representative, Executive Cabinet member, Hub Club Member and on the Bylaws, Membership and Trade Show Advisory Committees. At the time of his induction, he is the Friends of Towing Area l Representative and a member of the Managing Trustees. In semi retirement today, Dick continues to spend considerable time at the Massachusetts State House and Department of Public Utilities, speaking on behalf of the Towing and Recovery Industry for STA Likewise, he aggressively supports Friends of Towing and TRAA in their respective endeavors. As the president of a leading industry publication, Dick seeks to improve the image and professionalism of the towing industry.
