James “Jay” C. Davenport Jr.

Jay was born on July 31 1933. He was a veteran of the US Army and Air Force and was co-owner of Davenport’s Truck Stop in Paragould where he worked with his son Curtis for 25 years. Jay lost his life on July 27 2002 when he was struck by a tractor trailer as he was attempting to cross the highway to prepare another truck for towing. He leaves behind his wife Beverly son; James Curtis Davenport III and daughter; Sherri along with many loved ones.
