Samuel L. Brewer

Sam was born in Ft. Benning, Georgia on September 12, 1939.  He was married to Ruth Adkins in Brooksville, Florida on December 29, 1990.  Currently, Ruth runs the company.  Sam has five children, Terre, Tanya, Donald, Dana and Kim.  Donnie is the truck foreman and an operator.
From 1957 to 1961, Sam worked in a chemical plant in Pensacola, Florida where he became a journeyman rigger in the United Mine Workers Union.  Sam went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1970 and is a Vietnam Veteran.  He entered the towing and recovery industry in July, 1971.  He specializes in light and medium duty towing.
Sam has been very active with the Professional Wrecker Operators of Florida and holds a current membership with the association.  He held the office of President for 6 years; was Chairman of the Legislative Committee for 8 years and was on the executive board for 17 years.
Currently, Sam is the President of TRAA of which he is also a member, a trustee for the International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum, of which is he also a member and sits on the Survivor Fund committee.
In 1998, Sam received the TRAA Citizen of the Year Award.  In 2003, he received a Lifetime Leadership Award (from?)  Sam remains dedicated to the towing and recovery industry and has no intention of retiring until his 100th birthday.

Innovation of a product sold in the marketplace that has helped move the industry forward. Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of service to the industry.

Exemplary Dedication

Candidate must have 20 years running a towing business in an outstanding and exemplary manner, promoting a positive image of the towing industry and have positive relations with the community, i.e., performing services for the community about and beyond the services for hire. Limit: One inductee per year.

Industry Leadership

Leadership involved with an outstanding project that has had a dynamic and lasting effect on the towing industry. Candidate must have minimum 10 years service to the towing industry.

Professional Achievement

Creating a product or service of any kind that has had a significant and lasting effect on thousands of towing professionals. Candidate Must have a minimum of 10 years to the industry.
