George W. Stevens
George Stevens grew into the business through his father’s towing company. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958 where he was involved with towing and recovery in a heavy tank battalion, George returned home to continue his career with heavy trucking as a Fleet Superintended with a truck line. In 1978, he opened his own towing and recovery business and today operates five tow trucks and employs twelve full time trained professionals. Today, Stevens Service Center is the largest independent automotive and truck repair facility in Vicksburg.
George Stevens served as President of the Mississippi Towing Association from 1985 to 1989, and later from 1990 to 1991; Fourth Vice President of the Towing and Recovery Association of America from 1988 to 1989 ; Third Vice President of TRAA from 1989 to present and Chairman of the Awards Committee, Chairman of the Charity Committee and District Director for Mississippi from 1985 to present, for TRAA. At the time of this writing, George Stevens seeks the Presidency of TRAA unopposed. George Stevens hopes to improve the image of the towing industry and wants to present towing people for the true professionals they are.

Tow Equipment/Product Innovation
Innovation of a product sold in the marketplace that has helped move the industry forward. Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of service to the industry.
Exemplary Dedication
Candidate must have 20 years running a towing business in an outstanding and exemplary manner, promoting a positive image of the towing industry and have positive relations with the community, i.e., performing services for the community about and beyond the services for hire. Limit: One inductee per year.
Industry Leadership
Leadership involved with an outstanding project that has had a dynamic and lasting effect on the towing industry. Candidate must have minimum 10 years service to the towing industry.
Professional Achievement
Creating a product or service of any kind that has had a significant and lasting effect on thousands of towing professionals. Candidate Must have a minimum of 10 years to the industry.
