George L. (Bud) Anderson

Bud first became associated with the towing industry through his employment in 1970 with a major truck equipment distributor in Chicago. In 1976 he transferred to Los Angeles, continuing his association with the sale of towing and recovery equipment. November 11, 1980 he opened his own distributorship under the name of Golden State Wrecker and Equipment Sales. From the modest beginning, his firm has grown to include three separate facilities in Santa Ana, San Diego and Honolulu, employing sixteen full time employees. He was a founding member and first President of the Towing Equipment Distributors’ Association (TEDA); a member of the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) and associate member of the California Tow Truck Association (CTTA). Service after the sale is important and Bud maintains an extensive parts inventory and service facility which is managed by his father George Anderson. Bud aggresively seeks improvements throughout the supply side of our industry and willingly shares his experiences with other vendors through his position in TEDA.
