Ludwig (Lud) Menzl

Ludwig Menzl came to America as a young man in search of a better life. In the early days he worked as auto mechanic, salesman and “handyman.” In 1957 he purchased a Texaco Service Station in Milwaukee where he went into the towing business. From this modest beginning, he went on to build one of the largest and most modern towing and recovery companies in Wisconsin. Ludwig Menzl was one of the principal organizers of what was to become the Wisconsin Towing Association. He became active in legislative issues at the state level on behalf of the towing industry where he cooked so much Bratwurst that he became known as the “CHEF.” Ludwig Menzl has served the Wisconsin Towing Association as its Chairman and continues as an active Director. Ludwig Menzl has actively sought to improve the towing and recovery industry at both the state and local levels in Wisconsin.
