Ronald Grice

Perhaps Ron Grice was the one of the first, if not the very first, to adapt hydraulic design concepts to the towing and recovery industry. Some of his early models were introduced in the 1960’s, clearly a decade before hydraulic equipment was introduced to North America. He was a Founding Director of TFL Recovery Equipment Company, Ltd. where he designed, manufactured and marketed hydraulic recovery cranes and towing vehicles. Later, Ron formed other manufacturing and marketing ventures which even further advanced the use of hydraulic equipment in the towing and recovery industry. His expertise in this area has been recognized worldwide and in 1977 he authored one of the first books directed to the recovery industry. Ron Grice currently serves with distinction as Chairman of the Council of the Recovery Equipment Manufacturers and Suppliers Association (REMSA) of England. He was also a founding council member of the Institute of Vehicle Recovery in 1988, where he continues to serve.

Ron Grice is truly a pioneer in the design, manufacturing and marketing of hydraulic recovery cranes and towing equipment. His many design concepts have modernized our industry worldwide. Safety, function and innovation best characterize these many contributions which Ron has made to our equipment. But, beyond this, Ron is also a renowned Instructor, imparting his extensive knowledge to others as a teacher. At considerable personal cost, Ron Grice provides equipment and donates his time to train others.

Ron Grice is a true pioneer in every sense of the word as he has consistently advanced the state of the art for the benefit of all.
