Val F. Reich Jr.

Val Reich, Jr. joined the Ernest Holmes Company in 1946 in the Demonstration Department. He went on to serve the company in a variety of positions, including Personnel Director, Assistant Sales Manager and Assistant to the President. Val Reich, Jr. was a very dedicated and fair man, to the extent that he was asked to work beyond his normal retirement. Once retired, Holmes again prevailed on him to continue his service on a part-time basis for several years thereafter.

During the hectic post war years, Val Reich, Jr. was the stabilizing force in the rapidly expanding Holmes company. He allocated production, when necessary, coordinating the efforts of manufacturing, sales and administration for Holmes. Val Reich, Jr. rightfully earned the reputation for his honesty and fairness as he was always concerned with the welfare of his employees, the sales force in the field and the network of suppliers and operators who so heavily relied on Holmes during·those formative years.

Val Reich, Jr. was a quiet gentleman with the persuasive skills of a diplomat. He was known by all to be their friend and advocate. Indeed, Val Reich, Jr was one of those special pioneers who molded and shaped our industry to make it what it is today.
