William McClaskey

Bill moved to Florida in 1930 and was educated in the Miami Public Schools and at Miami Tech. he served with the U.S. Army in Germany as Motor Sergeant from 1945 to 1947. He entered the automotive service field as owner of Dixie Garage from 1951-1953 and Flamingo Auto Center in 1953. In 1960 he purchased Nolan’s Garage and operated it as a garage and as Miami’s largest towing service. He later converted the operation to an exclusive towing company, Nolan’s Towing and Recovery.

Bill McClaskey is one of the industry’s most active people in civic affairs. These include IGO, Masons, Shriners and Rotary. From the start of PWOF, he has been an officer, serving as President from 1980-1981. He is a stockholder of T.T. Publications, a member of Friends of Towing and a Trustee of the Hall of Fame.
