William W. Coxon

Bill Coxon first entered the towing industry in 1962 through a service station he operated on the outskirts of Windsor. A year later he began to develop commercial customers and heavy duty recovery, in addition to light duty police tows. In 1965, Bill formed a business relationship with another firm that led to the sale of his light duty division in 1 %8. Bill Coxon then focused his efforts on heavy duty equipment and soon went on to manufacture several large hydraulic recovery units. However, he also remained an active tower and expanded his operation to fourteen units with twenty eight full time employees.

In the early seventies, Bill Coxon become the distributor for Vulcan Equipment and produced some of the required hydraulic drive components. Presently, the Coxons operate nine power units and six trailing units, specializing in the second move of oversize loads, such as, mobile homes, portable buildings and conveyors. Bill Coxon is presently serving a second term as President of the Ontario Recovery Group. He is a Past President of the Ontario Tow Truck Operators Association and a member of the Ontario Trucking Association.
