Steve Welchel

Steve Welchel has been privileged to serve on the Board of Directors for the International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum for the past seven years including serving as Secretary for the last two. During this time, he has come to see that the Museum is an essential element to preserving the towing industry’s history. He is committed to helping the organization continue to grow and prosper. With his experience in the industry he can offer new perspectives and forward thinking ideas that will help expand awareness as well as grow the membership.

Steve is a second-generation towing company owner and has worked in the family owned business for over 20 years. While working fulltime he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University. During this time, he has been instrumental in growing the business from a small mom and pop to over 40 trucks and 60 plus employees. Steve has been married for 12 years and has three beautiful daughters.

Over the last several years he has had the opportunity to work closely with the Towing and Recovery Association of Georgia and is currently the sitting President. He also has experience working with other non-profit organizations, which include The Special Olympics of Georgia and The Atlanta Defenders.
